Ryo Tatsuki is a Japanese manga artist and self-proclaimed clairvoyant, also known as the “Japanese Baba Vanga.” She published a manga titled "The Future I Saw" (Watashi ga Mita Mirai) in 1999, which features illustrations based on her prophetic dreams.

The book initially went unnoticed but later gained a cult following after some of Tatsuki's predictions reportedly came true. These include:

• The 1995 Kobe earthquake.

• The death of singer Freddie Mercury.

• The 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

More recently, Tatsuki's predictions have gained renewed attention due to a forecast of a major disaster, potentially a tsunami, in Japan in July 2025 also an 8.5 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami in the Pacific coasts of Russia and Japan. Tatsuki had predicted it would happen on July 5th, 2025; though late, it happened in the month of July 2025. This has led to some public anxiety and reports of decreased tourism to Japan. However, officials have emphasized that earthquake prediction with current scientific knowledge is impossible.
